A diverse, dynamic congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)

Celebrate Life through the Imagery of the church

"Welcome one another as God in Christ has welcomed you!"

That brief verse from Romans sums up pretty well what we continually aspire to at Hoodland Lutheran. We have all been touched and transformed in our own ways by God's surprising gift of grace, that unmerited love and mercy that we've come to know through Jesus Christ. We feel privileged to share that grace as openly and freely as we've received it, not just with each other, but with our community and our world. It is our joy to join with any who want to partner with us in that adventure.

Our roots are Lutheran, but many of our folks come from other traditions. We respect and value the richness that comes with diversity. We are an inclusive church. Christ did not exclude anyone. Neither do we.

We are a progressive congregation.  We believe that practicing the teachings and examples of Christ today shapes a better future for us all as well as for Creation itself.

We care about social justice. While salvation is deeply personal, it can never be merely private. It is communal, global in its scope, for we are in this together. God cares, and so do we, about the good of all, and especially for those whom the world deems "least".

We believe that the will of God can be summed up in one word: love. Love God, and love others as Christ has loved us. That's what we're about. ~ nd
